Silver Lake Sand Dunes Mears Michigan

With a breathtaking landscape of beautiful beaches, historic barns, and charming churches, there is no better place to tie the knot than at Silver Lake Sand Dunes

Many couples choose Silver Lake as their wedding destination because of fond memories of summers spent on our shores. Others appreciate the many unique attractions that the area has to offer. What could be a more fun way of celebrating your exchange of vows than taking your wedding party on a dune scooter ride or boat cruise on Silver Lake?  Whatever the case, there are venues and local services available to help bring your wedding dreams to life.

The Silver Lake Sand Dunes open season runs from April 1st–October 31st. Early Season hours (April 1st–May 1st) are 9:00am–8:00pm daily; Peak Season hours (May 1st–September 15th)  are 9:ooam–10:00pm daily; and Late Season hours are (September 15th–Oct 31st ) 9:00am–8:00pm daily.

Permits: A permit from the DNR for a wedding is $50 and you have to call 231-873-3083 for the permit. All attendees would also need a state park passport for their cars which is $12.00 annually for Michigan residents. For non-Michigan residents, a state park passport is $9.00 per day or $32.00 annual for out of state. If you needed a vehicle on the dunes to transport furniture and/or decor that vehicle would need state park passports, flags $35.00 each, and 2 ORV permits $36.25 and they would have to be “dune ready.”
