Maroon Bells Wedding for Breathtaking Mountain Getaway

Getting married in the mountains is the ultimate act of romance. The wildness of thriving nature and tall, looming mountain tops is simultaneously overwhelmingly vast and curiously intimate. Whether you are thinking of celebrating with a few friends and family or escaping to the mountains for just you and your partner to elope, the Maroon Bells wedding venue is one of the most breathtaking locations for a destination wedding. Let me tell you why!

About The Maroon Bells Wedding Venue

Aspen’s Maroon Bells are the most photographed mountains in North America. When you see it for yourself, you’ll understand why. The Maroon Bells are a series of distinctly bell-shaped, wine-colored peaks that have formed over the last 300 million years. Towering 14,000 feet above the extraordinary Maroon Creek Valley, it offers some of the most incredible natural views on the planet.

They get their signature color hue from the glow of the rising and setting sun. While their crumbly surface makes them unsuitable for hiking, they make for exceptional photo backgrounds.

Details of the Grounds

If you plan to get married at Maroon Bells, The Maroon Bells Amphitheatre is the perfect place to exchange your vows. In fact, it’s the only place you can reserve for a wedding here. The site fee, however, is pretty modest, allowing you to have a spectacular, private space to say “I do” away from busy tourist crowds and regular seasonal traffic.

For Reservations Visit: Amphitheater Reservations

The Amphitheatre is a simple platform with benches facing out to take in the views of the Maroon Bells stretching high above and the lush green valley below. It’s perfect for accommodating up to 50 guests. You and your partner will exchange vows in a small rocky clearing surrounded by mountain meadows and wildlife, truly in the heart of nature.

Even if you plan on eloping, just you and your partner, it’s still worth reserving the amphitheater for a more private and secluded experience. Remember that Maroon Bells are the most photographed mountains in North America, so there are plenty of other guests on a mission to see the beautiful countryside. It’s worth having the extra seclusion so all you’ll be thinking about is your partner and this incredible moment in your lives. (Plus, the photos will be even more incredible without extra people hiking along the trails in the background!)

After your stunning ceremony, you can celebrate by reserving the nearby picnic area, which has three modest picnic tables in a secluded clearing. Bring any food, drink, and nature-friendly décor you like. Be prepared to properly dispose of all decorations and trash once you’re done, as it is still a public park space with plenty of friendly wild neighbors if you catch my drift.

Photography Opportunities

Every photo we take at Maroon Bells will be jaw-dropping, and that’s partly because of how gorgeous you and your partner will look and partly because of the scenery. We’ll take advantage of meadows of vibrant wildflowers and groves of Aspen trees.

The peaks of Maroon Bells will be prominent in many of your portraits, as will the lush green valleys and sloping mountainsides covered in brush and trees. There’s a pretty good chance the sky will be breathtakingly beautiful on your wedding day, too.

Wedding Details

It is worth noting that they restrict vehicle traffic on your way to the amphitheater. However, there is a shuttle bus that you can use to transport your guests to the ceremony space. However, an added perk of renting the amphitheater is that it comes with five vehicle passes that will allow you access on the restricted roads. You don’t have to hike up the mountainside in your wedding dress (but if that’s your thing, go for it!)

You’ll also need to be pretty on top of reserving the amphitheater when ready to commit to your wedding here. Reservations are available one year in advance, and they go quickly. If you have your heart set on a specific date, be ready to jump on it exactly one year prior and reserve your wedding day!
