The Ivy House Saugatuck for Gorgeous Greenhouse Aesthetics
Greenhouse weddings are one of the best inventions. Garden weddings might feel like the pinnacle of romance, but there’s nothing magical about forcing your guests to sit through rain or humidity to celebrate your big day. Greenhouse weddings bring in the light and the plants of gardens while letting you remain in the comfort of a climate-controlled building. If you’ve been considering a romantic greenhouse atmosphere for your wedding, I would love to tell you all about The Ivy House in Saugatuck.
About The Ivy House in Saugatuck
The Ivy House was opened in 2021 by Holland-local Candice Grinwis. Before opening the venue, Candice worked as a wedding professional and got to talk to various couples. She saw that most people loved the idea of a barn or a garden wedding but didn’t love the idea of being in a space without climate control or necessary amenities such as restrooms.
As such, she decided to open The Ivy House as a solution. The seven-acre space has open fields, ample parking, and several gorgeous buildings designed to serve as the perfect blank slate for your wedding décor.
Details of the Grounds
The primary wedding space at Ivy House is the greenhouse. This space has glass walls and ceilings that allow plenty of natural light while remaining climate-controlled. The space also has concrete floors with a floor plan that you can arrange however you need. This venue is just waiting to be decorated with your flowers and dream décor.
Ivy House reserves the on-property barn for receptions. The barn space feels a bit rustic with its wooden rafters, but it has plenty of modern touches, so you don’t have to feel tied to any particular style. The barn has white walls, high ceilings, and a designated bar with splashes of black and brass.
The exterior is used for cocktail hour with a covered patio, well-maintained lawns, bistro lighting, and tables and chairs. In case of inclement weather, the venue has other spaces it can use for an indoor cocktail hour.
Ivy House has both a sizeable getting-ready suite as well as a small get-ready suite you can use to put on the finishing touches with your best friends. Additionally, the venue will hold up to 300 guests for your reception and ceremony. Ivy House is the perfect mixture of classic and trendy. Hedges and plants surround the land, while the greenhouse looks out into the forest. The space offers indoor restrooms, beautiful wooden chairs, and circular tables. It can be decorated however you’d like for your celebration.
Photography Opportunities
The exterior gives you plenty of chances to take lush and moody photos. The exterior is surrounded by tall trees with dark green leaves. The stone gate leading into the property is an excellent backdrop for group photos. The cement patio and the level lawns are ideal for pictures with the entire family.
Wedding Details
The venue provides multiple services to make your day a dream. You can choose from a long list of preferred caterers for the reception’s food. They have a license to serve alcohol and will have bartenders and servers for your day with three available drink packages.
Furthermore, they will provide all staffing, including a venue manager. They have in-house décor rentals and day-of coordination services. The Ivy House is handicap accessible so that every guest can celebrate with you.
